24.    Q: Do “natural-position toilets” use the same amount of water as a “seated-position toilet”?

1.      Q:What is the difference between 14" & a 16"?

A: The difference is the vertical height required between the top deck of the toilet and the bottom of the drain as it exits the toilet.  Thus a 16" toilet requires 2" more vertical clearance beneath it than a 14" toilet does.

2.      Q: I’m accustomed to a “seated-position toilet”, so why should I try out a “natural-position toilet”?

A: If you have an interest in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, then a little consideration of the benefits of a “natural-position toilet” may be of some value to you.  Numerous studies by independent laboratories and research organizations have found that hemorrhoids, diverticulitis, colon cancer, abdominal polyps, prostate problems or other related lower abdominal diseases can be either completely cured, or at least markedly improved, by the use of a “natural-position toilet”

3.      Q: I am a heavier person, can I still use a “natural-position toilet” comfortably?

A: As long as you are still physically capable of assuming the “natural-squat-position” you will be more than able to use a “natural-position toilet”, some older individuals have found it helpful to have a 24" high grab-bar installed adjacent to their natural-position toilet to assist with balance.

4.      Q: If the “natural-position” is the best way to eliminate, then why were “seated-position toilets” invented?

A: The people who invented the modern “seated-position toilet” in the 1600's, honestly believed that they were improving people’s lives by offering “commoners” the same type of plumbing fixture that only royalty and the very wealthy had access to for years.  Only recently has modern medical research revealed the previously hidden health problems associated with the “seated-position toilet”

5.      Q: Is a “natural-position toilet” really needed? Isn’t there some way that I could temporarily “try-out” a natural position toilet without having to first install a whole system?

A: For approximately $160.00 including shipping, a “natural-position platform” can be purchased at http://www.naturesplatform.com This platform will convert any seated-position toilet to a natural-position toilet.  The only drawback is that it doesn’t make for a permanent installation.  Attempting to stand on the rim or seat of a “seated-position toilet” to reach the “natural-position” is not recommended, due to both the inherent looseness of toilet seats, and also the narrowness of a typical toilet rim.

6.      Q: Can children and the elderly use a “natural-position toilet” comfortably and safely?

A: Early on in life a small child, while eliminating, will instinctively assume the “natural-squat-position”.   With a little assistance for a short while, an older child can easily relearn this “natural-squat-position”.  Anyone who is still able to assume the “natural-squat-position” can easily learn to use a “natural-position toilet” .  Older people whose knees may no longer be as flexible as they once were may need to practice fully flexing their knees for 15 minutes/ day for a few days before they can reach this position again in their lives.

7.      Q: If a “natural-position toilet” is the best way to eliminate then why hasn’t my doctor told me about this yet?

A: Old habits are sometimes hard to change, and change sometimes takes time.  “Natural position toilets” have only been readily available in the developed world since 2008.  Still, in light of well-documented study, after study, after study, the many major health benefits of“natural-position toilets”, have been clearly demonstrated.    Now a few "more progressive" medical doctors are beginning to recommend natural-position toilets to their patients.

8.      Q: Is a “natural-position toilet” difficult to use?

A: No, for people under 50, the “natural-squat-position” is still usually quite easy to assume.    At the very beginning, a “natural-position toilet” may seem a little awkward, but with time the “natural-squat-position” becomes more familiar and comfortable, just as it already is to over half of the human race.

9.      Q: I know that a “natural-position toilet” is better for my heath than a “seated-position toilet” but is there any form of elimination that is safe to use with my sitting toilet?

A: Yes, for approximately $160.00 including shipping, a “natural-position platform” can be purchased at http://www.naturesplatform.com.  This platform will convert any seated-position toilet to a natural-position toilet.

10.      Q: Can I read or write while using a “natural-position toilet”?

A: While it may not be as comfortable as a “seated-position toilet”, it is possible to learn how to balance and read or write while in the “natural-squat-position”

11.    Q: When I sell my house, if the new owners want, how difficult would it be to take out the “natural-position toilet” toilet and re-install a sitting toilet?

A:  There are two ways of assuring a good resale value for your home when installing a “natural-position toilet”.   First, by installing your “natural-position toilet” using the easily reversed “retrofit installation method” as shown in the installation guide, or by installing your “natural-position toilet” in alongside a “seated-position toilet”, so that no one need feel“forced” to use a “natural-position toilet”  The "retrofit installation method" can be reversed quite easily.   With any luck, by the time you are ready to resell your house, “natural-position toilets” will be viewed as assets, creating additional value to your home, which is the trend that we see coming in a few more years.

12.    Q: Does the installation of my “natural-position toilet” depend on were I want it located in my house?

A: Yes, when mounting the toilet at finished floor level, or at platform level, if at all possible, it is usually easiest to locate a “natural-position toilet” above an unfinished basement.  When mounting the toilet in a retrofit seat-height installation, it can almost always replace a toilet in any bathroom without any need to penetrate the floor or ceiling below.

13.    Q: Can I have a sitting toilet and a “natural-position toilet” in the same bathroom, or might that cause plumbing problems?

A: Yes you can, a side-by-side type of installation is a common type of toilet installation, and should not cause any trouble with your plumbing.

14.    Q: I cannot find a plumber to install my “natural-position toilet”, do I need a licence plumber to install it or can I do it myself?

A: Depending on your skill level and the type of installation that you have chosen, you may or may not need a plumber, and possibly a carpenter, to assist you with your “natural-position toilet” installation.  Any plumber who is able to follow our installation guide should be able to accomplish an installation.  We hope that both plumbing contractors and homeowners might feel welcome to contact our trained customer support team, either by toll free phone, or by online chat Monday through Friday.

15.    Q: I've been using a “seated position toilet” for 47 years.  Will the transition to a “natural-position toilet” be difficult?

A: Most customers who began with any of the lower abdominal problems mentioned above have reported an immediate improvement in their condition, and have report no desire to revert back to an older “seated-position toilet”

16.    Q: Will a “natural-position toilet” match the decor in my bath-room?

A: We currently offer our toilets only in white.  Other colors such as biscuit and almond are planned for release in 2011.

17.    Q: Do I need to worry about my small child being near a “natural-position toilet”, might he or she drown?

A: The amount of standing water in a “natural-position toilet”is not enough to drown a child.

18.    Q: Is a “natural-position toilet” more difficult to clean than a “seated-position toilet”?

A: One of the many benefits of owning a “natural-position toilet” is the ease with which it can be cleaned.  “Natural-position toilets” have far fewer crevices and joints where grit and grime can accumulate, which makes it far easier to clean.

19.    Q: I would like to install “natural-position toilet”s in my business, would I receive a discount if I were to buy 28 toilets?

A: Any purchase of 12 or more units will receive a 2% discount.  International shipments of 24 units or more generally receive approximately a 60% discount on international shipping rates.

20.    Q: I have a broken foot, am I still able to use a “natural-position toilet”?

A: With a 24" high hand rail mounted on an adjacent wall, you should still be able to use a “natural-position toilet”.

21.    Q: In order to use a “natural-position toilet” do I need to be completely undressed?

A: Typically a person need not undress anymore than with a “seated-position toilet

22.    Q: Can I sit on a “natural-position toilet”?

A: While not recommended, it is possible to sit on a “natural-position toilet” that was installed using a “retrofit installation” technique, placing it at approximately seat height.  Some of our customers have even built a wooden toilet seat to create a “dual-use” seat height toilet.

23.    Q: Would it be cleaner for one to use a “natural-position toilet” compared to a sitting toilet?

A: Due to the fact that while using a “natural-position toilet”, only one’s shoes need to come into direct contact with the toilet, some feel that the use of a “natural-position toilet” is more hygienic than the use of a traditional “seated-position toilet”.

24.    Q: Do “natural-position toilets” use the same amount of water as a “seated-position toilet”?

A: Yes, they both generally require a single flush from a standard size toilet tank.
